Tocumen International Airport in Panama is considered to be the largest airport in Central American and the Caribbean and the third largest in Latin America in terms of international traffic, and passenger volumes have only gone up over the last five years.
In September 2018, Tocumen launched a new, modern system to speed up the passenger check-in process and began progressively deploying 35 IER 919 self-service kiosks in the Terminal 1 check-in area of Tocumen Airport. This equipment displays each airline’s management system and allows passengers to check in faster by scanning their passports, which triggers the boarding pass printing process.
This project is part of a $1.2 million investment in equipment, systems and installation, which was initiated in 2014.
